Description: FOS refers to short chains of fructose molecules that are incompletely digested by humans. They serve as food or as a probiotic for healthy bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidusm.

Indications:

  • Diabetes
  • Digestive disorders
  • High cholesterol
  • Immunity

Precautions: High doses may cause diarrhea. Initial use may increase gas and flatulence, due to alterations in gut flora.

Dosage: Take 2,000 to 3,000 mg daily.
