Description: Brewer's yeast is made from the dried, pulverized cells of a type of fungus known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is rich in B vitamins, chromium, amino acids, and selenium. Real brewer's yeast has a bitter taste.

  • Diabetes
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • High cholesterol

Precautions: Brewer's yeast is a safe supplement to use, although occasional reports of allergic reaction occur. Caution should be used for people on diabetic drugs, as the chromium in brewer's yeast may lower the requirements for these medications.

Dosage: Take 1 to 2 tablespoons daily.
