In Chinese medicine, a conduit that can be compared to an imaginary line (or a channel) linking points on the body's surface with internal organs, in which qi (chi) flows. Traditional Chinese medicine defines twelve main meridians and several supporting meridians. The surface points are used in acupuncture.
