This book provides detailed information on how to take the recommended herbs and supplements for each condition. Following are general guidelines on how frequently you should take herbal supplements.

  • Acute conditions: Take the recommended dosage every two to three waking hours to relieve symptoms and support the body's response. For infectious conditions, continue the herbal treatment for two days after the symptoms have resolved to prevent a relapse.
  • Chronic conditions: Take the recommended dosage two to three times daily.

Note: Herbs can be taken with or between meals. If you are prone to digestive upset, take the herbs with meals. If the herbs are being used to strengthen digestion, we recommend that they be taken close to mealtime.
