Music Therapy
By James F. Balch, M.D. and Mark Stengler, N.D.

The human brain has been programmed to be responsive to music. Examine any culture throughout the world, and you are sure to find music being used as a way to relax and combat the effect of stress. Certain types of music induce a relaxation state. This, of course, depends on each individual's music interests. On the other hand, some types of music are stimulating and should be avoided when you are trying to achieve a relaxation response.
